Call for submissions for the launch and official opening of the MONTREAL EROTIC ART FESTIVAL 2019

You are cordially invited to submit a file to participate in the main exhibition of the twelfth edition of the Montreal Erotic Art Festival organized by the Conseil des artistes québécois (CAQ).

The objectives of the Festival are to positively promote sensuality, eroticism and beauty through the different artistic disciplines: visual arts, dance, performances, fashion shows, music, video, films, performing arts, body painting, etc. . This is an exceptional opportunity to promote the arts and values ​​of an evolving society.

The Montreal Erotic Art Festival will be presented at the end of August at Circus and also in various locations in Montreal.

Rich of a diversified programming and the partners involved, the dates and places will be sent to you in the weeks to come. This call concerns the main exhibition of the Festival.

For this 12th edition, the Festival collaborates with, among other partners, CIRQUE DE BOUDOIR, Erotic Signature – The World’s Greatest Erotic Art of Today, Circus, Art Battle and many more


Submission of files

Submit only to caq@live.ca

There is no charge for submitting your file and exhibiting at the Festival.

Step 1
Make sure you send the email to: caq@live.ca

Step 2
In the submitted submission, in the Subject box, specify your discipline:
Festival – I accept the agreement (see step 3) – Submission – Visual Arts
or again: Festival – I accept the agreement – Submission – Fashion
or: Festival – I accept the agreement – Submission – Performance
etc .: sculpture, design, literature, burlesque, body painting, theater, movies, etc.

Step 3
Learn about the exhibition agreement between the visual artist and the Council. For those who work in other disciplines, except for sculpture, a specific agreement will be agreed.

Step 5
Attach your approach and CV in Word format (.doc or .docx) to your mailing, if available.

Step 6
The images you send must be in .jpg format and named as follows:
Name-first name-basis-years-medium-medium-size-prixaudetail
For exemple:
Barker-Jennifer-L_ange-over-from-the-sea-2009-acrylic-painting-20x30cm-450
Do not put accents, spaces or acronyms: *! & ‘”, @, […. etc in the file name.
Ideally, the images should be print quality (300dpi). If necessary, these images will be used to promote the event.

For other disciplines, the files will be named similarly and should not exceed 15MB. For larger files, arrangements should be made.

Submissions that refer to sites are not considered.

Step 7
Make sure that the selected works will be available for sale and can be hung with rope at the back. If one or more of your works are retained, they must be properly packaged upon delivery to the specified location (to come). See example.

Step 8
Selection Jury

A file must be assembled and presented to the committee. A first response will be given to the artists selected during the month of July.

The artists who present their file, type: Go see on my site, are not considered.

General informations
Clauses that will appear in the agreement between the artist and the CAQ for these events
– The artist will keep 70% on the sale of his works and 30% will go to the CAQ.
– It is the artist who assumes the insurance for his works (optional). The CAQ will not be held responsible for any damage or loss of the works of the artist.

– The artist will assign his rights to works exhibited solely for the purpose of promoting the Erotic Arts Festivals of Montreal organized by the Council or of archiving it on the Internet or other media.

Given the size of the organization, be sure to submit in your mailing all the requested information, including the info in the title of the works file.
